Fabian Hurzeler has issued a positive injury update on Albion midfielder Mats Wieffer.
The Dutchman started at right-back in Albion's opening Premier League games against Fulham and Everton but missed the visit of Manchester City on Sunday.
It is understood that the 25-year-old, who signed from Feyenoord last year for £25 million, has a slight knee complaint but his absence against City was more of a precaution.
Following Albion's 2-1 win over Pep Guardiola's team on Sunday, head coach Hurzeler said: "It's just a small issue.
"We didn't want to take any risks. He has some days to recover, and then he will be back against Bournemouth."
For Wieffer, the international break comes at a good time as he can build himself back up to full fitness for the trip to Bournemouth on September 13.
For the rest of the squad, many players may be itching to build on their first win of the season. Instead, they will have to bide their time.
Hurzeler added, "There are pros and cons [to having the international break now], we need to take it like it is.
"We need to try to make the best out of it, we need to try to come back strong out of the international break, and that's our responsibility."
Aside from Wieffer, centre-back Adam Webster is currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury that will keep him out for much of the season.
And club stalwart and winger Solly March is also out with a knee injury. It is not yet known when the 31-year-old will return.
