The critically acclaimed singer, songwriter and musician released his album of 13 tracks, Heartland, last week.
After his hit single Space Man skyrocketed him to the forefront of the airwaves, followed by a number 1 album, billions of streams, a BRIT award nomination and more, Sam says he has reclaimed creative control and freedom.
Sam said: "The creation of this album came along at a time where my light felt like it was dimming the most.
"I hauled myself and my family over to Nashville, pitched up at our log cabin in the trees, and started writing it out with friends surrounding me.
"It's an emotional experience hearing it back, each song a chapter of the year and a half it took to create, marking pivotal moments of transformation and change in my life.
"One thing has stayed constant throughout though - a thread of hope keeping this project alive and my head above water.
"I hope these songs bring you the peace they were crafted with, and that you take them on your next chapters."
And when the Daily Star asked Sam about how he celebrated the release, he said: "Lego! So much Lego. I reckon I could fill an Amazon wish list just with Lego sets to be honest.
"There's some amazing Star Wars Lego and I've got my eye on this Lord Of The Rings set too."

The charismatic pop star caused a wave of excitement across Essex in August after making short-notice appearances in Colchester, Chelmsford and Maldon to raise awareness for the album and Wembley show.
Born in Maldon, Sam has remained proud of his Essex routes throughout his rise to fame after his runner-up on Eurovision.
