Tom Holland names his two favourite songs of all time

If you're not a fan of the all-singing, all-dancing, all web-slinging young British actor Tom Holland, then it's fair to say the next couple of years could be a particularly bumpy ride. You'll probably want to turn the TV off, close the curtains and give the internet a miss entirely - other than Far Out, of course, let's not be silly.

That's because Holland is about to go from already being seen in a lot of places to essentially being seen everywhere, thanks to not just a new Spider-Man movie but also a role in the latest Christopher Nolan film, The Odyssey - an immense project that is so anticipated it recently sold out IMAX screenings more than a year before its release.

Holland is part of an ensemble cast for that movie in which he'll play 'Telemachus', son of the titular hero played by Matt Damon, and he seems to be pretty enthused about doing it, to say the least, describing the script as "the best he's ever read".

He will appear alongside his future wife, the pop star and actor Zendaya, who is about to wrap on another epic production, namely Denis Villeneuve's Dune 3, plus she'll be in a new season of HBO's Euphoria and take on another job opposite Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Holland started off his career in musical theatre, appearing as a lead in the likes of Billy Elliot and is known as a bit of an all-rounder with a decent singing voice and some talent on the guitar. And that can be seen in his favourite music, with one of his two all-time songs featuring not much other than an acoustic.

The tune in question is by sweary Scottish singer-songwriter Gerry Cinnamon, who burst onto the scene back in 2017 first through word of mouth and then thanks to sold-out gigs, a support slot with Liam Gallagher and then a huge debut and second album.

He's been quiet the last few years, with new material expected at some point, but he did surface to play a packed gig at the Reading Festival last year. Holland is a big fan, saying:

"I like 'Sometimes' by Gerry Cinnamon. He's a Scottish guy and he sings these absolute belters. He (also) has a song called 'Belter', it's glorious."

If you're not enamoured of Glaswegians in hats though, Holland also waxes lyrical about another, more laid-back song that he loves, namely a soul kazz classic from 1966. Holland revealed: "A song that makes me happy? It's 'Sunny' by Bobby Hebb. That is my favourite song in the world, I love it."

Interestingly enough, listening to the same song over and over again is a recognised symptom of ADHD, a condition that Holland suffers from, and this week he appeared in a big-budget spot commissioned by 'worst thing to tread on barefoot' Danish toy company Lego to promote the importance of 'play' in combating it. Which presumably given they make stuff to play with is a no-brainer really.

Anyway, you can check it out below, as Holland shows his range by appearing as a footballer, a company exec, a flamboyant artist and a toddler.
