Robert Mueller has had Parkinson's disease for past four years: Report - Conservative Angle

Former special counsel Robert Mueller was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease four years ago, his family said in a statement on Sunday night.

"Bob was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in the summer of 2021," his family told the New York Times. "His family asks that his privacy be respected."

Mueller, 81, served as FBI director for 12 years before later being appointed as special counsel into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The House Oversight Committee had been seeking his testimony into the bureau's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, but that request has now been withdrawn.

According to the report on Sunday night, Mueller has had difficulty speaking and experienced problems moving in the past few months, citing people familiar with his condition.
