BRS MLC Kavitha has admitted that recently she had written a letter to the party chief and former CM Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). Speaking to the media at the Shamshabad airport soon after her return from the USA on Friday night, Kavitha said that the letter was true. Interestingly, as soon as Kavitha came out from the airport, her supporters chanted loudly "CM...CM".
However, she explained that there was no personal agenda in it. "I wrote a letter to our leader KCR two weeks ago. This is not the first time I have written such letters. I have written personal letters like this many times in the past. But this time it is painful that it has come out," said Kavitha.
Describing the letter leak as serious, Kavitha alleged that someone from within the party deliberately leaked it. "There is a conspiracy behind the disclosure of the letter. We need to know who is behind it. This is an attempt to weaken the party," she said.
However, Kavitha says that she only wrote the opinions of party leaders in that letter. Kavitha, who clarified that she has immense devotion and trust in her leader KCR, commented, "KCR is like our god. But there are some demons around him. The party and the family are united. Any attempts to damage this are just conspiracies by a few."
This letter has become a testament to the internal strife in the BRS party over the past few weeks. After the letter was leaked, the fact that BRS working president KTR and former minister Harish Rao avoided responding directly on the matter also raised many suspicions.
In particular, there were reports that in the letter, Kavitha mentioned that the party should act more aggressively against the BJP and that the campaigns that KCR would form an alliance with the BJP were damaging the party. Political analysts saw this letter as a sign of dissatisfaction within the BRS and differences of opinion over the leadership changes.
With Kavitha herself confirming the letter, it remains to be seen what turns this controversy will take from now on. It should be seen. The internal affairs of the party being exposed, and this being done by a family member, may create some embarrassing situations for BRS. It remains to be seen how these developments will affect BRS in the context of the upcoming local body elections.
Meanwhile, the behavior of the Telangana Jagruti activists who arrived at the airport to welcome Kavitha surprised everyone. Unlike the BRS activists who usually come with pink flags and scarves, the Jagruti activists wore blue scarves.
Moreover, the welcome banners only had Kavitha's name without KCR and KTR's photos. Cutouts and placards were displayed without the name of the BRS party anywhere. Banners saying 'Team Kavitha' were also seen. It is noteworthy that not a single BRS leader came to welcome her.
