Dharmendra's passing on November 24 left the film fraternity and the nation grieving. Tributes poured in from every corner of the industry, with stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan expressing their sorrow. On Bigg Boss 19's Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman Khan whom Dharmendra lovingly called his "son" also opened up about the loss.
During the episode, an emotional Salman dedicated a heartfelt tribute on air. Fighting back tears, he said, "Yeh hafta waise hi jo guzra hai, manatein maang kar, prarthnayein karke, aansuon ke saath guzra hai. Desh ko ek bahut hi bada jhatka laga hai, fans ko ek bahut hi bada jhatka laga hai. Industry ko ek bahut hi bada sadma pahuncha hai (This past week has passed with prayers, supplications and tears. The entire nation has suffered a massive shock, the fans have been deeply shaken, and the industry has received a huge blow)."
He added that he wished he wasn't hosting this Weekend Ka Vaar and prayed for Dharmendra's soul, saying how much the actor's death has left a big gap in everyone's hearts. "I guess aap samajh rahe hain main kinki baat kar raha hoon. Anyway, God bless his soul. I wish I wasn't doing this week's Weekend Ka Vaar, but life goes on (I guess you understand who I'm talking about. Anyway, God bless his soul. The veteran actor was admitted to the hospital in early November because of health problems. Stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Govinda visited him at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. On November 10, false news about his death spread, but his wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol denied it.
Later, Dharmendra was taken home to recover, but he passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. His last rites were held with close family and many Bollywood stars attending.
Meanwhile, the show continues to intensify. This week's Weekend Ka Vaar also delivered a major twist. Ashnoor Kaur was eliminated from the house after engaging in physical violence with Tanya Mittal during a task. Adding to the surprise, rumours claim that Shehbaz Badesha has also been eliminated due to fewer votes. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.
