Regarding two important ideas (for this Christmastime)

Regarding two important ideas (for this Christmastime)

In terms of historic Christianity, my theology is straight like an arrow. I'm amillennial, just like St. Augustine. I'm sacramental, just like John Wesley. I believe the three-person analogy is the best way to understand the trinity, just like Eastern parts of the universal church.

I also know that I'd be a lousy heretic hunter. The history of heresy hunting is ... well, really ugly. Bloodshed, mayhem, coercion, homicide disfigured the ancient search for the Christian doctrine of God, and the pitiful joke was that "everybody was a heretic at some point" (R.P.C. Hanson). Quentin Tarantino ought to shoot that movie.
