PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12) -- Deputies are investigating a suspected homicide after a man was found dead and bloodied Saturday night near the Mudfest event in Martin County.
Detectives with the Martin County Sheriff's Office's (MCSO) Criminal Investigation Unit are working a death investigation after a man was found dead and covered in blood on the 26000 block of Martin Highway.
According to investigators, the victim was found at 10:00 p.m. near a large gathering known as Mudfest at Plant Bamboo. MCSO describes the victim as a white man in his late 30s.

Investigators are treating the case as a homicide at this time. MCSO noted that the cause and manner of death are pending and will be determined after an autopsy by the Medical Examiner's Office.
The investigation is in its early stages; however, deputies say there are multiple witnesses to be interviewed. The identity of the victim will be released after proper notification to the next of kin.
