Filmmakers, students and digital media pros will gather at Dickens Opera House for networking, food and the debut of its new Creative Directory
The Boulder County Film Commission is hosting its Fall Schmoozer at the Dickens Opera House, 302 Main St., Longmont, at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4.
The mixer is open to anyone working in, studying, or just curious about film and digital media. Local filmmakers, editors, producers, students and anyone looking to meet people in Boulder County's creative world are invited to come by, grab a bite and talk shop (or studio). High school and college students are especially encouraged to attend. The shmoozer will have local filmmakers, artists and creative digital professionals and there will be a chance to hear about job opportunities in the creative industry, and talk to working professionals.
The event will plate up food from Broomfield-based Italic Catering and Longmont's Passenger Restaurant, and will also feature raffle prizes and quick one-minute pop-ups where guests can pitch a project or idea to the room. The commission will also roll out its new Creative Directory, which is a local database created to connect film crews, vendors and creative professionals across the county.
Admission to the event is free, but space is limited, so prospective attendees are encouraged to register on Eventbrite at bit.ly/3Wc4PZD. The event is sponsored by Visit Longmont and the Longmont Downtown Development Authority.
