Eagles 53-man roster vs. Commanders: News and notes for Week 16

Philadelphia hopes to wrap up the NFC East with a win on Sunday over the host Washington Commanders.

Following their 10th straight victory, a 27-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the 12-2 Eagles are tied with the Lions atop the NFC with the 12-2 Vikings. The Eagles will finish with three straight division contests, needing one win to secure a division title.

With kickoff fast approaching, here is an updated 53-man roster still missing Bryce Huff, who didn't return from Injured Reserve.

Hurts has guided the Eagles to 10+ straight regular-season wins for the third time in his career (11-game streaks in 2021-22 and 2022- 23). Since 2022, Hurts has led all NFL QBs with a .804 (37-9) winning percentage (Patrick Mahomes ranks 2nd with a .787 (37-10) clip).

The veteran cornerback and Quinyon Mitchell played a big part in Terry McLaurin's struggle in the first matchup.

Smith has greatly improved and is among the team leaders with 5.5 sacks.

Elliott will look to rebound after three missed kicks in the win over Washington earlier this season.

Smith has 56 catches for 662 yards and six touchdowns.

The Eagles have the No. 1 defense in the NFL, and their safety duo is a significant part of their success.

Despite missing three games due to injury, A.J. Brown ranks 10th in the NFL with a team-high 946 receiving yards. He also ranks 3rd in the NFL in receiving yards per game (86.0), trailing only Ja'Marr Chase (100.9) and Justin Jefferson (88.8) (min. 10 games). Additionally, Brown leads the league with a 16.9 receiving average (min. 50 receptions).

Gainwell has averaged 4.6 yards per carry during the season, using his downhill running style.

Dean has played a significant role in Philadelphia, having the NFL's top-ranked defense.

Barkley ranks 1st in the league with a career-high 1,688 rushing yards (120.6 ypg), the most in Eagles single-season history.

Barkley's 1,688 rushing yards are the 2nd-most by an NFL player over their first 14 games with a team, behind Eric Dickerson in 1984 (1,792 as a rookie). It also marks the most rushing yards by any NFL player through 14 games since Adrian Peterson in 2012 (1,812).

Mitchell, who ranks 2nd in the league with 14 forced incompletions, has permitted the 5th-fewest yards per coverage snap (0.70) among NFL CBs (min. 500 coverage snaps), according to PFF.

Philadelphia's defense has cranked up the intensity with takeaways in the last four games, and Blankenship has been key.

Baun ranks 3rd in the NFL with 133 tackles, behind Zaire Franklin (144) and Budda Baker (142). Baun is the first NFL player to post 125+ tackles, 4+ FFs (T-2nd in the NFL, behind T.J. Watt - 6), 3.0+ sacks (3.5), and 2+ takeaways in a season since Shaquille Leonard in 2018.

With Bryce Hunt on IR, Hunt has seen his production and snaps increase.

Johnson is among the highest-graded offensive tackles in the NFL.

Mailata is the highest graded offensive tackle in the NFL.

Carter ranks 3rd among NFL interior DL in PFF pass-rush grade (83.2), behind Chris Jones (90.7) and Cameron Heyward (86.6).
