BAY CITY, MI - The Delta College Planetarium has a slew of upcoming shows and events for students -- adults and children alike.
Located in downtown Bay City, the planetarium, 100 Center Ave., is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
It's open 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and 1-3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The planetarium is closed on Sunday.
Show costs are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors, children, Delta College students and military personnel. Tickets for shows can be purchased here.
Journey through the solar system and beyond in a space-themed show. The program explores the blazing Sun, colorful star nurseries and graveyards, and the vastness of galaxies far beyond the Milky Way.
Narrated by John Augustine, host of Delta College Public Radio's Lifelines, the show also revisits the discoveries of historic astronomers and the evolution of the telescope, from its invention to the massive observatories of today.
Follow the adventures of Celeste, a young girl with dreams of exploring the universe, in a family-friendly show.
As Celeste reads about astronomy, she's visited by a character named MOON, who takes her on a cosmic journey to learn about exoplanets -- planets beyond our solar system. Together, they explore rogue planets, ocean worlds and super-Earths, while discovering how astronomers search for planets that could resemble Earth.
The show runs from 2-3 p.m. on Fridays: June 6, June 13 and June 20.
The Great Solar System Adventure
Embark on a theatrical journey through the solar system with "The Great Schiaparelli."
This imaginative show features the eccentric showman leading audiences through his fantastical Observatorium, traveling from the blazing surface of Mercury to the frozen reaches of Pluto.
