The forecasting firm Mintel has just published its Beauty & Personal Care Predictions 2026 report, which identifies three major trends: the rise of "health beauty," emotional sensoriality, and a return to creativity. These movements reflect the evolution of consumers seeking meaning, overall well-being, and authenticity.
According to Mintel, 2026 marks a turning point in the convergence between beauty and health. The report describes the emergence of "metabolic beauty", where the skin becomes a true indicator of inner well-being.
"Consumers are no longer content with just taking care of their appearance. They want to understand and measure what's going on inside," Mintel analyzes.
This approach is based on advances in biological measurement (such as biomarker testing and metabolic monitoring) and the success of so-called "in & out" products (collagen, probiotics, and beauty supplements). Cosmetics are now becoming preventive.
By 2030, Mintel anticipates that skin and hair will be perceived as the "most accessible biomarkers of the human body".
This represents a profound transformation in the role of brands, which are now expected to become everyday partners rather than mere suppliers of cosmetic products.
