ST. PETERS -- Keylee Jones posted a third-place finish Friday to lead the Capital City Lady Cavaliers at the Fort Zumwalt East Invitational.
Capital City placed 11th out of 23 teams with 80 points. St. Clair won the team title with 175.5 points, Festus was second with 165.5 points, Eureka was third with 147 points and St. Charles West finished fourth with 140.5 points.
Jones posted a 3-1 record at 125 pounds, winning three matches by fall and one match by technical fall. Jones pinned Pacific's Gabby Brannan in 1:45 in the third-place match.
Karley Vanderslice and Samara Pierrevil each finished fifth for Capital City.
Vanderslice went 3-1 at 155 with three pins. She won by fall in 3:38 against Pacific's Marissa Johnson in the fifth-place match.
Pierrevil had a 3-2 record at 235, also winning her three matches by fall. She pinned Amiona Errasti of St. Clair in 4:48 in the fifth-place match.
Maci Albright added a sixth-place finish at 130 for the Lady Cavaliers. She had a 3-2 record, winning three matches by fall -- two in the second period and one in the first period.
Also competing for Capital City were Kellie Jones (2-2 at 170), Dzifa Adjokatse (1-2 at 135), Zoey Glen (1-2 at 190), Haley Hedrick (1-2 at 235), Parker Distler (0-2 at 105), Leyelle Willis (0-2 at 155) and Emmah Butler (0-2 at 190).
Capital City competes next in the Wonder Woman Tournament on Jan. 3-4 at Battle High School.
