We need more of this from men, women, everybody ... Okay, so Latto is making it clear that any male artist looking to collaborate with her needs to understand one thing from the start: respect her relationship.
It all went down in a recent sit down with Speedy Morman on the series 360 With Speedy, the Atlanta hitmaker opened up about how she keeps her personal life protected despite being in the spotlight. While the identity of her long-term partner remains under wraps, Latto gave fans a rare glimpse into how she maintains balance between love and career.
"They gon' test the water, but for the most part, everybody respect what I got going on," she said. "They know don't play with me. Don't play with him. They respect that belt."
Latto emphasized that her relationship is never far from her thoughts and joked about how deeply her partner is woven into her daily routine.
"Eat, my man. Shit, my man. Bathe, my man. Sleep, my man," she said, laughing.
I mean, the ish part though?
Okay, even after five years together, the spark between them has not faded. Latto described the connection as something rare and genuine, noting that it still gives her butterflies.
"I think it's just meant to be for real. And then I think because we don't got everybody in our business, like, y'all want to know so bad," she said. "You're not."
The rapper also credited her personal growth for drawing in the right kind of partner. By putting in the work to become the best version of herself, she believes she naturally attracted someone who matches her ambition and energy.
"I made myself a boss, then I got with a boss," she added.
