Special parade to take place in Limerick City this weekend

The community is being encouraged to come out and show their support.

A parade will take place in Limerick on Saturday, celebrating the men and women of our Emergency Services and Defence Forces.

'The National Services Day Parade' will give the community a chance to celebrate and thank the people behind the uniforms.

When: Saturday, 6th September

Parade Time: 2:00 pm.

Parade Route:

* Departing from Barrington Street.

* Turning right onto the Crescent.

* Taking a left turn on Mallow Street and a right turn onto Henry Street.

* Continuing straight down Henry Street and through Liddy Street.

* Taking a right turn and proceeding around Arthur's Quay onto Francis Street.

* Taking a left turn into Rutland Street and proceeding straight over Matthew Bridge.

* All Personnel Marching in the Parade will turn into Merchants Quay as this will be the Parade's finishing location.

The Parade this year includes An Garda Síochána, Óglaigh na hÉireann / Irish Defence Forces, Irish United Nations Veterans Association, Irish Defence Forces Veterans Association, Limerick Fire & Rescue, Limerick Civil Defence, Irish Red Cross - Limerick Area, Order Of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Limerick, Order Of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Shannon, Blood Bike Mid West, Limerick Marine Search And Rescue Service, Limerick Suicide Watch, LTSP Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention, BUMBLEance Children's Ambulance Service - and many more!

The Irish Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter will also perform a fly-past over Arthur's Quay Park at 2:30 pm (*weather permitting).

The event promises to be a fantastic family day out, and the public is being encouraged to line the streets, cheer on the participants, and celebrate the amazing personnel who serve our communities every day.
