2026 wide receiver commit Lavar Keys has decommitted from the program following the firing of James Franklin. Keys is the first player in the Class of 2026 to announce his decommitment from the program. However, all of the Class of 2027 have reopened their recruiting process.
The three-star receiver committed to Penn State on Aug. 2, 2024, before taking his official visit in May which solidified his commitment to Franklin and the program. With Franklin's departure, and now a little over a year after his initial pledge, Keys' commitment is back open.
The Hyattsville, Maryland, native was the No. 842 player in the country, the No. 115 receiver and the No. 20 player in Maryland.
His decommitment leaves 24 players committed in the Class of 2026. Four-star Davion Brown and three-star Jahsiear Rogers remain committed for now as the lone receivers in the class.
