In January 2022 more than a dozen fire appliances attended the scene after a fire broke out overnight.
It is believed to have been an accident.
The bar itself was completely rebuilt over the past three years with the floorspace almost tripling from its original 6,600 sq ft.
Last month the bar posted a video on their social media announcing they "can't wait" to welcome customers "back home".
The post read: "Four years ago, we watched our house - a place filled with laughter, late nights, and unforgettable memories - go up in flames.
"But what fire took away, heart and hard work have rebuilt.
"Today, as we walk through the quiet halls of our new home, we can almost hear the echoes of the past and feel the buzz of what's to come.
"These walls will come alive - with familiar faces, new stories, and moments that will one day become memories. We can't wait to welcome you home."
The Anchor is set to open its doors to the public at 12pm on Thursday October 30.
One of the owners, Terry Hutley, said he is "looking forward to welcoming customers both old and new" later in the week.
The old premises had four main areas - the lounge, the main bar, a function room that doubled as a pool room and the beer garden.
"What we wanted to do is recreate the Anchor with what it was but give it the building that it should have had," said Terry.
"We even reinstated the old original bar back to its rightful place after being put in storage after the fire - a true piece of Anchor history.
"I've heard people describe it as the living room of town, and for the past four years locals have been missing that space where everyone meets, so Newcastle has been dying for the Anchor to come back and we can't wait to be back."
The 27-year-old's dad, Paddy Hutley, took over the bar 17 years ago with his business partner Rob Manley.
The Hutley family own a number of other hospitality businesses in the town including Brunel's, Café 67 and Great Jones.
Since the fire, Paddy has taken a step back and Terry will be running the newly refurbished Anchor with Rob.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Terry said they are incorporating elements of bars that can be seen in big cities such as Dublin, London and Edinburgh.
"We have a fancy lounge bar with a fancy cocktail menu and the beer garden outside," he said.
"The prices won't be over the top either, we don't want to rip people off we want to run a decent pub people enjoy coming to.
"We will have food as well on offer in our fully kitted-out kitchen."
Last week they announced their first comedy night, due to take place on Friday November 14, and tickets sold out within four hours.
Comedians Terry McHugh, Tim McGarry and Colin Murphy will all be performing along with host for the night Sean Hegarty.
Terry said for the first year they will be "gearing up" to run more events but in the coming months will be aiming to run at least 60 events throughout the year.
"We could maybe be organising one a week in the off season and ramp that up in the summer," he said.
"We always knew we didn't wat to rush coming back, we wanted to do it right, but we are now looking forward to welcoming customers in for the Halloween weekend."
