The Puducherry unit of the AIADMK has accused former Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy of spreading lies over the proposed Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, AIADMK Puducherry secretary A. Anbalagan said Mr. Narayanasamy was spreading lies against the Election Commission regarding the SIR and termed their claims of names being deleted from Aadhar centres as false and politically motivated.
He criticised the Congress and DMK leaders for trying to discredit individuals and groups who offered humanitarian aid to the poor, such as distributing food or gifts at assembly constituencies and said that helping underprivileged people should not be politicised.
Mr. Anbalagan said Mr. Narayanasamy and Leader of Opposition R. Siva had no right to speak about distribution of gifts to people and said that issues relating to funding of such gifts should be probed by the Income Tax authorities and not politicised. The AIADMK continues to serve people whether in power or not, he said.
The AIADMK also flayed the Puducherry Government for lack of development, failure to create jobs for educated youth, and closure of Government undertakings.
