The 25-year-old is reported to have a release clause of around €70million (£61.5m) in his contract. Liverpool are though said to face competition from other 'top English sides'.
Liverpool have made a 'generous offer' to defender Ibrahima Konate over a new contract, according to the Daily Briefing.
The report says that the centre-back is yet to respond to the offer with a decision expected over the next few weeks. The 26-year-old is out of contract in the summer and Liverpool risk losing him for free if he doesn't sign a new deal. Foreign clubs are able to negotiate with him in January over a free transfer at the end of the season.
Real Madrid have been linked with signing him should his contract run out. Talks between Liverpool and Konate are said to be at a 'crucial stage'.
