Armenia's Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with Firebird co-founder Alexander Yesayan on September 1 to discuss the creation of a large artificial intelligence data center in Armenia, the ministry has said in a readout.
Yesayan presented the progress made on the project, which includes the development of a facility with a capacity exceeding 100 megawatts and the deployment of thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. The initiative envisages an investment of around 500 million US dollars.
During the meeting, the sides addressed urgent strategic and technical issues, including the final selection of the site, the infrastructure required at the location, and ensuring a stable supply of electricity.
Minister Hayrapetyan emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts, noting that a large-scale data center would play a crucial role in strengthening Armenia's technological ecosystem.
The discussion concluded with agreements on further steps toward the project's successful implementation.
First Deputy Minister Gevorg Mantashyan and Enterprise Armenia representative Vahagn Mughnetsyan also attended the meeting.
