Human remains found in Detroit River identified as missing woman: Windsor police

Windsor police say human remains discovered in the Detroit River earlier this year have been identified as those of a woman who was reported missing last December.

Police say officers with the LaSalle Police Service found the remains in the river near Fighting Island in June.

They say the deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Rupinder Kaur.

Police say Kaur was reported missing on Dec. 17, 2024.

They say no foul play is suspected.

Police encourage anyone in need of support to contact Windsor Essex County's victim services or the force's victim assistance unit.
