Endicott's Corner Drug Store to close its doors after 87 years

ENDICOTT, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Corner Drug Store, located at 101 West Main St. in Endicott, will be closing its doors on June 26.

In a letter posted to Facebook, the store's owner, president and supervising pharmacist, Patrick Magee, said, "Despite my best efforts to keep the Corner Drug Store in operation, each year has brought more difficult challenges. After recently closing the Gift Shop and exploring other business opportunities, I realized that factors such as declining prescription reimbursements from insurance plan providers, increasing costs of goods, and fewer customers due to the rise of online shopping have made it impractical to continue running an independent community business."

Magee added that the store will maintain regular business hours until its closing, and will be holding a clearance sale on home health care supplies, orthopedic supports and medical items.

All prescription records will be transferred to CVS at 1008 Union Center Main Highway in Endicott on June 26th.
