COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A woman who was charged with accessory after the fact to murder in the killing of a vulnerable adult in Richland County went before the court Wednesday for a bond reduction hearing, but her request was denied.
Julivia Waller was arrested on Feb. 6, 2024 in connection with the disappearance of Morgan Duncan, a 27-year-old man with schizophrenia who went missing in November 2023.
The search for Duncan lasted months, eventually ending in June 2024 when investigators found some of his remains in an aqueduct in a wooded area behind the Richland Library off Springbank Drive. Deputies say more remains were discovered in December of last year.
While Waller was initially charged with murder, that charge was dismissed in April 2024 at a preliminary hearing. The Fifth Circuit Solicitor's Office said the charge was revised to accessory after the fact "based on additional evidence."
Eric Greene, Waller's co-defendant, was arrested at the same time as Waller. He has been charged with murder and has had his bond denied twice.
During Wednesday's hearing, prosecutors alleged she was at the apartment when Duncan died. They added that during the course of the investigation, witnesses have stated that her car was used to dispose of Duncan's body.
Waller's attorneys asked the court to reduce her bond from $100,000 cash-only to a surety bond of around $25,000 on Wednesday, but the judge denied their petition.
Officials said Waller and Greene are expected to head to trial in July.
