In his first appearance for French club Lille, Moroccan international Hamza Igamane scored twice, helping his team to a resounding 7-1 victory over Lorient. The match took place on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in the third round of Ligue 1.
The 22-year-old striker, who came on in the second half, netted his first goal in the 80th minute before adding a second in stoppage time.
Coach Bruno Génésio explained his decision to bring Igamane on after the break: "I chose to bring him in during the second half because I felt that with the limited spaces we had to attack, he could give us a lot. He is a very technical player, comfortable in tight areas. For his first match, this is excellent -- it will give him confidence, as well as the whole team".
His teammate Romain Perraud was equally impressed: "He delivered an amazing performance from his very first appearance. He came in, exploited the spaces, and scored two brilliant goals, even though he has only been with us for two days. It's impressive".
Lille had announced Igamane's signing on Friday, August 29, in a deal worth €10 million from Glasgow Rangers, with a contract running until 2030.
