Tiwa Savage Reveals Heartbreak Story Behind Painful Tattoo - TV360 Nigeria

The Afrobeats star says she flew in a tattoo artist from Los Angeles to ink her in Lagos after a difficult breakup.

Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has opened up about how a painful heartbreak pushed her to get a tattoo in an unusual way.

Speaking in a recent interview with media personality Katy Igwe, Savage revealed that she flew in her tattoo artist from Los Angeles to her home in Lagos, choosing a private session over a tattoo parlour.

"I did it [the tattoo] in my room because I wanted to be comfortable," she explained. "When you're in a tattoo parlour, there are so many people around, and you're already going through pain. I needed to be in my own space."

The singer recalled that the session was intense, describing it as "bloody", which even left her tattoo artist concerned.

"He kept asking, 'What are you doing? Is that going to come off?' There was blood everywhere. He was more worried about me, but I just wanted to do something that screamed how I was feeling."

Savage revealed that the decision was fueled by the pain of a toxic relationship she endured two years ago.

"That period was really hard. The relationship I experienced was crazy. I'm so happy I'm out of it now," she said.

Her candid revelation has sparked conversations among fans about the different ways people process heartbreak, with many praising her for being open about her healing journey.
