Former Virginia Tech offensive guard Braelin Moore has signed with the Tigers, the football team announced.
Moore is the 11th player LSU has signed from the transfer portal but the first offensive lineman it has been able to get to join the team. Moore is considered the fourth-best interior offensive lineman in the portal.
Virginia Tech has had a solid ground game the past couple seasons and Moore started every game for the Hokes during that stretch.
Moore has two years of eligibility left.
Why OL Braelin Moore picked LSU from transfer portal
There's been some turnover along the Hokies offensive line since the end of the regular season and Moore was among those big guys that decided to test the transfer portal waters.
Virginia Tech hasn't been much of a player in the Atlantic Coast Conference race since Moore has been on campus. It's likely the 6-foot-3, 303-pound lineman wanted to find a new place where he could make an immediate impact and also possibly compete for championships.
How Braelin Moore will fit with LSU football's roster
In a single phrase? Like a glove.
Moore is only part of what Brian Kelly and his offensive staff aim to do at the position out of the transfer portal but the offensive lineman was high on LSU's board and he helps fill arguably the biggest unit of need on the team.
He also brings plenty of experience having started two full seasons, something LSU desperately needs as it is losing four starting offensive linemen from this year.
The NCAA transfer portal opened Dec. 9 and will close Saturday, Dec. 28.
