"We just looked at each other. I fell to my knees and cried," Lauren Speed-Hamilton said of seeing the positive pregnancy test after four years of trying to conceive.
"Love Is Blind" stars Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton are expecting their first child together.
The couple, who met on Season One of the Netflix dating show, announced the news in an epic movie trailer-style video on Instagram. The clip recapped their journey so far, from their time on "Love Is Blind" to getting a pet and home together.
At the end of the video, a positive pregnancy test pops up screen as the sound of a fetal heartbeat plays in the background. In another scene, they rub Speed-Hamilton's baby bump next to a onesie that reads, "Baby Hamilton."
"So, do babies come with instructions?" Hamilton asks at the end of the video.
"Nah, just Google and prayers. Oh, and ChatGPT," Speed-Hamilton responds.
"We did the classic test and we both went into the bathroom to look at the Clearblue test and it was face down," Hamilton told People. "We flipped it over. We saw the word pregnant, and that was just a huge moment to actually see the word pregnant on the test."
Speed-Hamilton said they have "literally been trying to get pregnant for four years."
"Seeing the word pregnant, it was amazing," Speed-Hamilton said. "We just looked at each other. I fell to my knees and cried."
The couple opened up about their fertility journey and their experience with IVF on their podcast "The Love Seat" in October 2024.
"The number one question we are always asked is, 'When are you going to have a baby?'" Hamilton said.
At the time, Speed-Hamilton said discussing fertility was "still kind of tough."
"But I think it's so important to talk about it so that you can see yourself in the conversation that we're about to have," she said.
Speed-Hamilton and Hamilton are the latest "Love Is Blind" couple to move toward parenthood. Fellow Season One stars Amber and Matt Barnett welcomed a baby in April. Season Three's Alexa and Brennon Lemieux and Season Four's Bliss Poureetezadi Goytowski and Zack Goytowski are also parents after meeting through the dating show.
Speed-Hamilton told People that the Barnetts -- who announced their pregnancy on the first episode of "The Love Seat" -- have already been a help.
"Amber is full of advice," Speed-Hamilton said. "She's giving me the real real lowdown advice."
While Speed-Hamilton is anticipating all the baby's firsts, she's also excited to enjoy life with her child.
"I am looking forward to, first off, just holding the baby and hearing the first cry, but also just reliving my childhood through the baby, doing all the fun stuff," Speed-Hamilton said. "Being a big kid again and seeing it through their eyes is going to be amazing."
