Barrow AFC boss Andy Whing knows Swindon will be a threat

BARROW AFC head coach Andy Whing knows his side face another tough task on home turf today.

Swindon Town are the visitors to Holker Street (Kick-Off 3pm) and Whing says they are big deal at this level, although not one that strikes fear into Barrow hearts.

He told The Mail: "They've got a big squad, and a really good squad, even their last couple of signings (Ollie) Palmer (from Wrexham), and (Ryan) Tafazolli from Wycombe Wanderers, and I think they got another couple in on deadline day.

"So, they've got loads of options and they are in good form as well, so it's going to be a really tough game.

"They are a massive club in this division to be fair. They have been in the Premier League previously, and they seem like they have got their act together a little bit now.

"Obviously, they've got a fantastic manager, and like I say a real good squad.

"They went to (the team) top of the league last week and won convincingly. Then went to a League One in the week and beat them, so they will be buoyant

"They will want to continue that momentum that they have got, but while we respect them massively, like I have said before, we don't fear anyone.

"We feel like when we are at our best we can beat anyone. I think we haven't been too far away in most games, it just been small moments that have gone against us.

"So, I think we can take positives from our first six games and try to go and win a game of football."

Whing expects today's visitors to take the game to his side at Holker Street and is well aware of the threats they possess.

He added: "They have got really good strikers, and are quite attacking.

"They have scored some really good goals this season.

"They bypass opponents more than any other team in the league.

"They look to get in behind you, and they look to get the ball forward quickly, and get good crosses into the box.

"So we know they will be a big threat, but we have to match that and we have to stamp our own authority on the game, and if we do that then hopefully we can get a positive result, and give our fans something to cheer about."
