TEHRAN, Oct. 18 (MNA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held calls with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, US Special Envoy for Middle East Steve Witkoff, and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement on Saturday that the discussions revolved around efforts to support security, stability, and de-escalation in the region following the signing of the Cairo Agreement between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency on September 9.
"During these calls, the need to continue efforts to reduce tensions, build confidence, and create conditions for the resumption of negotiations between Iran and the United States to reach a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue that takes into account the interests of all parties and contributes to achieving regional security and stability was discussed. It was agreed to continue monitoring efforts and contacts and to consider proposed ideas to achieve the expected progress in this regard," read the Egyptian foreign ministry's statement.
