Region E includes Alexandra and Sandton which is an important economic hub and has been specifically targeted for intervention to revitalise the Wynberg industrial precinct.
The mayor of the city of Johannesburg Dada Morero led the "high service delivery operation" in region E, Ward 91 (Wynberg Precinct) on Tuesday 21 October 2025.
Morero worked on the operation alongside MMC for housing Mlungisi Mabaso and MMC of development planning in Johannesburg Eunice Mgcina.
This operation is a critical component of the ongoing high-impact service delivery programme, implemented across all seven regions of Johannesburg. The programme aims to tackle service delivery backlogs, enhance infrastructure maintenance and enforce by-laws in hotspot areas.
MMC for housing in Johannesburg Mlungisi Mabaso said: "We are dealing with issues of by-law enforcement, dealing with issues of blockages and also clamping down on criminal activities and illegal activities that are happening here, we are also dealing with illegal operations in the region as well"
