MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Two people are behind bars after a shooting last month at an Horry County convenience store.
Horry County Police Department responded on Sept. 11, 2025, to Gerald's Convenience Store at 6475 North Highway 701 near Conway for a shooting.
Tyler Gerald suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, telling police that he had bumped into a weapon he had just cleaned, causing it to go off, according to a police report.
However, police received a copy of surveillance video of the shooting on Sept. 29, 2025.
Police said that the video shows Tyler, along with Scott Gerald and two other unidentified males, shooting at a Chevy truck driving away. Tyler is heard on the video saying he had been shot and grabs his leg while dropping his pants to look at the injury, according to the report.
On Friday, Oct. 29, police took Tyler and Scott into custody, jail records show.
HCPD charged Tyler with discharging firearms into a dwelling and obstructing justice. Scott is charged with pointing and presenting firearms, discharging firearms into a dwelling, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and two drug charges, according to the records.
Police have released a handful of the warrants regarding Scott's arrest.
According to the warrants, Scott was taken into custody while working at Gerald's Convenience Store. The warrants say he had a pistol and 13 grams of "white powdery substance" that tested positive for cocaine.
This led to a narcotics search of the business, in which authorities found 70 grams of narcotics in a backpack inside of a cooler within the business, the warrants say.
Tyler is now out of jail on home detention.
Scott is still being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center with no bond set as of the time of writing.
