Housing Action NH names next director

Housing Action NH recently announced the hire of the organization's next director, Nick Taylor. Taylor will take the helm from Elissa Margolin, who has led the organization for 15 years. Taylor comes to Housing Action NH with nearly a decade of experience in New Hampshire's politics and policy landscape, including serving as executive director of the Workforce Housing Coalition of the Greater Seacoast, a former member of his local Zoning Board of Adjustments, and as policy director for the New Hampshire Senate. He also previously served as a governing council member of Housing Action NH.

Granite United Way announces new board members

Granite United Way welcomed two new board members to its volunteer Board of Directors.

Robert Coates, Jr., president, New Hampshire Electric Operations for Eversource and Herschel Nachlis, associate director and senior policy fellow of the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences at Dartmouth College, and research assistant professor in Dartmouth's Department of Government both joined the nonprofit board this fall.

Coates is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to about 539,000 customers in 215 New Hampshire communities, and also serves as incident commander for emergency restoration efforts. Prior to this role, Coates previously served as Eversource's vice president, transmission project management and construction. He has more than 35 years of increasing responsibilities at Eversource and predecessor companies.He earned a bachelor of science degree in Occupational safety and health administration from the University of New Haven and an MBA from American International College.

Nachlis studies and teaches public policy, American politics, and law, focusing on health policy, regulation, and political institutions. His work has been published in many journals and media outlets. He has been an academic visitor at Nuffield College of the University of Oxford. His research has received the Robert C. Wood Paper Prize from the New England Political Science Association, and his teaching has received the George Kateb Prize from Princeton's Department of Politics. He previously was an assistant professor of government at Franklin & Marshall College and received his PhD and MA in politics and social policy from Princeton University and BA in political science from Macalester College.

Dr. LeGeyt joins Concord Hospital Medical Group

Concord Hospital Orthopaedics - Laconia welcomed Dr. Michael LeGeyt to the team. LeGeyt is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. His expertise includes surgical and non-surgical hand, wrist, and elbow treatment. He earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut. He completed fellowships in sports medicine at Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Sciences and hand and microsurgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University.

Mt. Washington Valley Chamber welcomes new executive director

The Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Chris Proulx as its new executive director. With more than two decades of experience in media, advertising, marketing, and communications, Proulx brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success to the organization. He has led operations at Outside TV's New Hampshire affiliate, where he spearheaded content creation, brand visibility, and audience engagement. Proulx also has operated his own full-service media production and marketing company, and was a production manager for Resort Sports Network. He holds a bachelor of science in broadcasting and film from Boston University, where he was a Blue Chip Award Winner.

NHFPI welcomes Shulman as communications director

The New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute (NHFPI) has named Holly Shulman as its new communications director. Shulman will lead NHFPI's strategic communications efforts. She brings more than a decade of experience in economic policy communications to NHFPI. Her work has focused on translating complex research into actionable insights for policymakers and the public. Career highlights include leading communications for the Center for Global Development, where she amplified research on critical economic policy issues, including debt sustainability, taxation, and development finance. As a spokesperson for international affairs at the U.S. Treasury Department, she advanced initiatives on global financial regulation, G-20 economic priorities, and international development strategies. She holds a bachelor's degree in urban studies from Vassar College.

McLane Middleton welcomes attorney Valerie Weber

The law firm of McLane Middleton has announced the hiring of attorney Valerie A. Weber.

Weber focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning, tax planning, and trusts and estates administration. She enjoys working with clients to craft personalized plans to meet their objectives. She also advises clients serving as fiduciaries of trusts. She has been practicing in New Hampshire for nearly a decade. Prior to joining the firm, she worked at Cleveland, Waters and Bass, P.A. in the Trusts and Estates department. She received a dual bachelor of arts in business economics and psychology, magna cum laude, from the University of California at Santa Barbara and her juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Houston. She is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
