When Kallee Spencer dropped her 2-year-old daughter off at daycare a few months ago, the teacher made a cryptic comment.
"She said, 'I can't wait for you to see Hadlee's class photo -- but you're going to have to wait,'" Spencer, a mother of two in Texas, tells TODAY.com.
A few weeks later, Spencer got a text message from a class mom, which read, "Hadlee's class photo should be her graduation picture."
Spencer quickly logged onto the website of the daycare, which had uploaded the class photo. All the students were calmly staring into the camera -- "and then there was Hadlee," says Spencer. Her daughter had made the silliest and most exaggerated face, digging her fingers into the sides of her mouth.
"That's what she normally does," says Spencer, adding, "That's her smile."
This week, Spencer posted a TikTok video captioned, "School picture fail."
"Did you take pictures at school today?" Spencer asked her daughter, who answered confidently, "Yeah."
"How did you smile?" asked her mom. "Show me how you smiled."
Hadlee gave the camera her sweetest, brightest grin.
"You did?" asked Spencer, to which Hadlee answered: "Yeah!"
The video then includes a screenshot of Hadlee's class photo, taken by Chelsea Parsons Photography, which TikTokers said was "iconic" and "priceless."
According to Spencer, Hadlee is now a local celebrity in their small town and people have jokingly asked for her autograph.
Hadlee is impressed too.
"She says, 'I see Hadlee in the school picture,'" says Spencer.
