Two-alarm fire displaces five in Kingston

A fire broke out on a roof just after 2pm on Tuesday, May 27, according to the Kingston Fire Department. Firefighters arrived on scene near Rogers and Adams Streets mere minutes after receiving the report and immediately found the fire blazing at 28 Rogers Street.

The location proved challenging to suppression efforts due to its limited access, requiring a highly strategic response. A second alarm was raised. Firefighters fought the flames on multiple fronts, including from an aerial ladder, within the attic and on the second floor.

The fire was extinguished after approximately 90 minutes, with all hands on deck.

No injuries were reported, however five city residents were unable to return home.
