Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health is temporarily shuttering its pharmacy on Eastern Michigan University's campus.
The closure is expected to last from March 22 to late summer amid supply and staffing issues. "Ongoing operational issues with the pharmacy operator contracted by Trinity Health" is the reason for the temporary closure, according to the Ypsilanti, Mich.-based university.
"Both Trinity Health IHA Medical Group and EMU began working alongside the pharmacy owner to ensure there was minimal disruption in services," a Trinity spokesperson told Becker's. "This proved difficult and a decision to move forward with closing the pharmacy and ending the lease with Campus Medical Pharmacy was made."
The health system plans to reopen the pharmacy as its sole operator.
For now, students are recommended to use Reichert Pharmacy, a nearby location also owned by Trinity.
