University Hospital Limerick remains more overcrowded than the next two facilities combined this morning.
Data collected by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows a total of 96 people were waiting for a bed at the region's main hospital during morning rounds.
Of these, 36 were in the emergency department while 60 were in wards elsewhere.
By comparison, 66 were on trolleys at Cork University Hospital while 40 were waiting for a bed at Sligo University Hospital.
The figure for UHL is also greater than the total for all eastern hospitals, where 95 were without a bed this morning.
