TALLASSEE, Ala. (WSFA) - A family in Tallassee is picking up the pieces after they say a fire took away everything they have, including their pets, days before Christmas.
The fire broke out before sunrise Friday. Tallassee Fire Chief Eric Jones confirmed there was a house fire on Powers Avenue that morning. He was not able to talk Monday evening and said he would provide more information later.
The family contacted WSFA 12 News, saying the eight residents lost all their belongings, including clothes, furniture and medical equipment, as well as Christmas presents.
