CPC expels former head of insurance company

Liu Anlin, former Party secretary and president of China Life Property & Casualty Insurance Co Ltd, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China for grave violations of Party discipline and laws, according to a statement released by the country's top anti-graft authorities on Sunday.

The investigation, conducted by the discipline inspection and supervision team dispatched to China Life by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, together with the supervisory commission of Linfen, Shanxi province, found that Liu lost his ideals and convictions, failed to implement major decisions of the CPC Central Committee, and engaged in improper business activities that caused major losses.

Liu was also found to have violated the Party's eight-point frugality code, promoted officials against regulations, abused his power for personal gain, and led a corrupt lifestyle. He was accused of embezzlement, bribery, and disrupting market order.

Given the seriousness of his misconduct and its lasting negative impact, Liu was expelled from the Party and deprived of his benefits. His illicit gains have been confiscated, and his suspected criminal offenses have been transferred to prosecutors for further investigation, the statement said.
