Opposition boss calls for crowd support ahead the upcoming Oxford United match against Norwich City this week.
Philippe Clement insists Norwich City's relegation showdown with Oxford needs no extra hype - just the Carrow Road roar.
Clement's era got off to a bumpy start in a 4-1 Championship defeat at Birmingham, but the Belgian head coach aims to draw a line under a toxic period marked by growing stadium protests and terrace barbs.
"They can have the guarantee from me that I will push really hard here to make everything better," he said. "With their support I think there can be a very good period for Norwich to come in the short and middle to long term. But we need them. We need them.
"But the players need to show also. So it's from both sides. Like I said from the beginning you cannot take things for granted, you need to show things on the pitch.
"Everybody who's ever been on a pitch they know also the importance about how much energy fans can give you when they cheer you. And I have to say the fans were also amazing in Birmingham, also the second half, after a bad performance in the first half.
"The very important thing now is not to look back all the time and to focus on that and lose all the energy on what went wrong. It's to look forward and to make things better and to get this positive dynamic again, and to get this synergy again with your fans. All the focus needs to be on that, not on the past."
Norwich is the only team in the Championship without a home point this season, but Clement is dialling down the view Oxford's Tuesday visit is a relegation six-pointer.
"Those things you can say at the end of the season. I don't want to be the mathematician," he said. "No, I want to be the coach to change things as fast as possible. Let everybody do the right things together on the pitch. That's my focus. Now, if I lose all the time with all the mathematics, then I will lose my head.
"It's not about pushing away (the pressure) or embracing it or whatever. This team needs to focus on themselves, to get the best out of themselves and the best out of the team. If you're only focused about the results you don't do the right things on the pitch.
"We first need to do the right things together in every moment of the game, the right things together on the pitch, and then the results follow. It's not the other way around."
