Sabah State Election: Voter Turnout Rises by 10 AM

Kota Kinabalu: The voter turnout for the Sabah State Election increased to 366,917 people, or 21.05 percent of the 1.78 million registered voters, as of 10 AM. The Election Commission (SPR) noted this increase compared to the 10.14 percent recorded at 9 AM. Voting centers opened at 7:30 AM across Sabah. The election follows a two-week campaign period, with voters choosing from 596 candidates from 22 political parties and 74 independent candidates vying for 73 state assembly seats.

KOTA KINABALU: Jumlah keluar mengundi Pilihan Raya Negeri Sabah meningkat apabila seramai 366,917 orang atau 21.05 peratus daripada 1.78 juta pengundi telah menunaikan tanggungjawab setakat pukul 10 pagi, sejak proses pengundian dibuka pada 7.

30 pagi tadi. Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya memaklumkan jumlah itu menunjukkan peningkatan berbanding 176,756 orang atau 10.14 peratus yang direkodkan pada 9 pagi. Terdahulu, sebanyak 882 pusat dan 3,559 saluran mengundi di seluruh Sabah mula dibuka pada 7.30 pagi untuk memberi ruang kepada 1.78 juta pengundi negeri ini bagi menjalankan tanggungjawab. Pada Selasa lalu, seramai 17,615 orang atau 92.5 peratus daripada 24,426 pengundi awal yang merangkumi anggota tentera, polis dan pasangan masing-masing telah menjalankan tanggungjawab masing di 58 pusat mengundi awal yang ditetapkan SPR. Masa depan Sabah bergantung kepada 1.7 juta pengundi PRN Sabah pada hari ini yang bakal menentukan calon dan parti manakah bakal mentadbir kerajaan negeri untuk tempoh lima tahun akan datang. Selepas dua minggu Sabah hangat dengan kempen pilihan raya bermula 15 November lalu, kini masanya mereka memilih dalam kalangan 596 calon daripada 22 parti politik dan 74 calon Bebas yang menawarkan diri untuk bertanding di 73 Dewan Undangan Negeri dengan majoriti mudah 37 kerusi diperlukan bagi membentuk kerajaan.-UTUSAN
