Celina Jaitly's lawyer said that the actress had to endure mental, physical and financial torture.
Actress Celina Jaitly has filed a domestic violence case against her husband Peter Haag in Mumbai's Andheri Magistrate Court. Her lawyer, Niharika Karanjawala, has released a statement in the matter. Speaking to IANS, Karanjawala said, "I cannot share many details since the case is sub judice, but I can certainly say that the allegations made in the petition are extremely serious."
According to the lawyer, Celina has stated in her petition that she faced constant physical and emotional abuse during their marriage, including prolonged mental pressure, controlling her decisions, and financial coercion.
He said, "On Tuesday, the First Class Judicial Magistrate issued a notice to Peter Haag in this matter, which must be responded to by December 12th." The next hearing in the case will now be held on December 12th. In her petition, Selina claims that her husband's behavior was abusive and violent. She was subjected to emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse.
This led to her gradual mental breakdown, affecting both her self-confidence and independence. After losing financial independence, she also suffered significant setbacks in her career, as her husband prevented her from working.
In the petition, Celina has demanded a monthly alimony of Rs 10 lakh and compensation of Rs 50 crore. Looking at Celina Jaitly's personal life, she married Austrian businessman and hotelier Peter Haag in 2010. The couple has three children: Winston, Viraj, and Arthur. In 2012, the couple welcomed twin sons. In 2017, Celina gave birth to twins again, but one of the children died due to heart disease shortly after birth.
