BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department will be working with BUHS varsity football coach Chad Pacheco and BUHS football players to offer flag football for those in 1st-6th grade.
Players will need a mouthguard (required) and cleats or sneakers. The fee is $30 for Brattleboro residents and $45 for non-Brattleboro residents. This program will run for four weeks. September 15, 22, 29, and October 6. Practices will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will be at Fort Dummer Field.
This program is open to non-experienced and experienced football players in grades 1st-6th. Players will work on basic skills, drills, and agility for both offense and defense and play flag football games. Under the direction of BUHS varsity coach, Chad Pacheco and his players, participants will be taught techniques and skills to play football safely. This is a no-contact football program.
Youth soccer, grades 1st-6th
BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department announced that they will now be accepting registrations for youth soccer grades 1st-6th.
The fee is $40 for Brattleboro residents and $55 for non-Brattleboro residents. 1st-4th-grade teams will have one practice and one game a week. The 5th and 6th-grade teams will be participating in the Tri-County League and will have games against neighboring towns. Please note that shin guards are required for all games and practices, and remember to bring a full water bottle.
Youth soccer, pre-kindergarten
BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department will be offering pre-kindergarten soccer from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning September 10 and continuing until October 8. This program will be held at Living Memorial Park-Lower Field and is for children ages four and five years old. Children must be four years old by the time of registration. Pre-kindergarten soccer has a limit of 16 participants.
The fee is $30 for Brattleboro residents and $45 for non-Brattleboro residents, which includes a t-shirt. Basic soccer skills will be taught in a fun format. Shin guards are required, and sneakers or cleats are recommended. Volunteer coaches are also needed.
For all programs, online registration is now open at https://vtbrattleboroweb.myvscloud.com/webtrac/web/. In-person registrations are available Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be a $10 late registration fee beginning Friday. Anyone registering on or after September 5 must come to the Gibson Aiken Center main office to be added to a waitlist and will be permitted to register for the program only if space allows.
