PATTAYA, Thailand - Police from Na Jomtien Station were alerted by a local resident to the body of a homeless man, approximately in his 50s, found seated beneath the Nam Mao overpass, Moo 2, Na Jomtien, Sattahip, on September 3.
Investigation led by Lt. Suriya Yuphum and local village official Supachai Samiphak revealed the man sitting on a green mat, wearing only black shorts. Nearby were personal belongings, a bag of clothes, a water bottle, a half-full herbal liquor bottle, and three small bottles of white spirit.
A local shop owner reported seeing the man in the same spot around 5:30 a.m. and noticed labored breathing the day before. He had been staying under the overpass for about three days.
Rescue volunteers found no signs of trauma or struggle. Authorities estimate he had been deceased for 4-5 hours before being taken to Sattahip Kilo 10 Hospital for a full autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
