I'm also so excited about the amount of new artists that are interested in Mijllstream from some of our rural communities around St. Joseph, and it's been exciting this year to see the number of new artists.
Peters says the Bookend Literary Tent will feature local authors.
Really diverse authors, from authors of children's books all the way to authors who write novels. It's a unique community to be around, listening to them talk amongst themselves.
Peters says they've changed up the live entertainment a bit this year with more on-street performances, including Lykke Theater giving two performances, a Somali dance troupe, and Paul Imholte.
Peters says the hands-on children's activities with the Avon Hills Folk School will have flower crowns and botanical print making.
The one that I am excited about, and they are not naming it, they say it's a surprise, the artist Shane Mann is a maker in our community, he brought pewter soldering last year. I'm curious to see what he's going to bring this year for our kids to try.
The Millstream Arts Festival gets a grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board. They also received a donation from American Door Works.
The Millstream Arts Festival used to be held on the last Sunday in September, but a few years ago it was moved up to the last Sunday in August.
