The Met Office has issued a 45-hour snow warning for parts of Kent. The alert - covering a huge part of England and Wales - is a yellow weather warning and forecasters say "heavy snow may cause some disruption".
The alert is in place from noon on Saturday (January 4) to 9am on Monday (January 6). Areas of Kent in the snow warning zone include Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Ashford and Dartford.
With its warning, the Met Office said there is a chance power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected. There is also a chance some rural communities could become "cut off", and there could be travel delays on roads with "some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel".
It added: "Given the uncertainties, it is quite likely this warning area and start/end times will be refined over the coming days as confidence increases in areas most likely to be impacted." However, it said: "If milder air is able to spread more bodily northwards, any snow in southern parts of the warning area may be relatively short-lived before turning to rain."
This fresh snow alert comes as the county is being battered by winds of up to 67mph. There is currently a yellow warning in place for Kent today (January 1), which is for wind, and all the latest weather updates from across the county can be found here.
