Riverfront market, festivals and more: Here are 5 things to do around Peoria this weekend

May is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this Memorial Day weekend.

Party in the Heights

Friday Night Heights will take place Friday, May 23, at Tower Park, 4901 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights. Food and drinks from Tin Roof Smokehouse, Wolves Den Pizzeria, Emack and Bolios, Feels Like Ohm and Clink Mobile Bar will be available starting at 5 p.m., and live music from Patrick N' Swayze will begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

2025 Riverfront Market season opens

The first Riverfront Market of the 2025 season will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 24, in the River Station parking lot, 212 SW Water St. The market will include fresh produce, local meats, eggs, berries, breads and cheeses from central Illinois. The market will also feature a one-of-a-kind selection of art, including pottery, jewelry, wood items, candles, soaps and more.

Music, Wine and Craft Beer Festival

Mackinaw Valley Vineyard's Music, Wine and Craft Beer Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 24, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 25, at the vineyard, 33633 Illinois Route 9, Mackinaw. This year's festival will feature over 50 wines and 60-plus craft beers for tasting and purchase from around the world. The Lions Club will be providing food concessions, with the proceeds going to its charity. There will also be an artisan cheese sampling and sales by Ropp Jersey Cheese in the pavilion. On Saturday and Sunday there will be music throughout the day by local artists and bands. Admission is $15 per person and includes the concerts, a souvenir tasting glass and five tasting tickets for ages 21 and over; $5 for ages 13-20; and free for ages 12 and under.

Halfway to Halloween haunted trail

The Springtooth Harrow Halfway to Halloween Haunted Trail will be open from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, May 24, at 4400 Industry Drive, Bartonville. The event will also feature spooky vendors, photo opportunities, a coffee truck and more. Admission is $15 per person. For tickets and more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/OldStateMine.

Craft beer celebration

The Second Annual Bust'd Beer Bash will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 25, at Bust'd Brewing, 4408 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights.
