Election observers from the Organization of American States (OAS), who are in the island to monitor the September 3 General Election, attended the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) mass meeting in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Sunday.
Officials of the JLP rally organising team and members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force had discussions about the most ideal area for the team to observe the rally as they were escorted to their seats.
The 23-member OAS team, which arrived in the island late last week, is led by former Prime Minister of St Lucia Kenny Anthony and includes experts and observers from 16 countries.
The team observed the voting of election day workers and members of the security forces last Friday.
The team will present its observations and recommendations in the days following the general election.
This is the fourth Electoral Observer Mission which the OAS has deployed to Jamaica.
