Anthony Edwards injury update is bad news for Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves got some bad news midway through Sunday's matchup with the Indiana Pacers.

Superstar guard Anthony Edwards left the game, and he will not return due to injury.

Edwards had played just three minutes before his exit. In that time, he was 2-for-5 from the floor, including 1-for-3 from 3, with five points and one rebound.

The Timberwolves announced that Edwards is out for the remainder of Sunday's game with right hamstring tightness.

He was injured in his first stint, and when he checked out for Bones Hyland about three and a half minutes into the game, it was clearly a bad sign.

The Wolves announced early in the second quarter that Edwards wouldn't be back. He eventually rejoined his teammates on the bench, having changed out of his uniform into street clothes.

With no Edwards, minutes likely increase for Terrence Shannon Jr., Jaylen Clark and the aforementioned Hyland.

The Timberwolves were taking on an extremely shorthanded Pacers squad, but having no Edwards is at least somewhat of an equalizer.

Minnesota began the season 1-1, and if it can pull out a win with Edwards sidelined, that'd be good while the Wolves try to figure out how much time Edwards may or may not miss.
