The Congress government can lose power if D.K. Shivakumar is not made the Chief Minister, Sri Veereshwar Swami of Degulahalli Madiwaleshwar Math said on Thursday.
The seer of the Lingayat math told reporters in Kittur of Belagavi district that it is time for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to keep his word by vacating his seat.
"There has been a secret arrangement between the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister about power sharing for the first two-and-a-half years. Everyone knows it. Mr. Siddaramaiah is an adamant person. I know him well," he said.
"But he should change his behaviour and transfer power to Mr. Shivakumar. Otherwise, Mr. Shivakumar may get upset and the Congress government may fall," he said.
