Anime India has announced that Haikyu!! director Susumu Mitsunaka will attend its Kolkata convention. Mitsunaka is also known for his animation work on films such as Weathering With You and The Boy and the Heron.
Mitsunaka's recent credits include storyboards for the 2022 films The Deer King, Detective Conan Movie 25: The Bride of Halloween and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. He directed Haikyu!! Movie: The Dumpster Battle in 2024, and is the director of the upcoming Haikyu!! vs The Little Giant film.
Anime India Kolkata will run from February 14 to 15, 2026 at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan.
This is the convention's third guest announcement. The event will also host singer and voice actor Akari Yura, followed by DJ Misaki. The Mumbai edition of Anime India debuted in August 2025 at Nesco, where guests included Death Note and Attack on Titan director Tetsuro Araki and Anime Times CEO Hideo Katsumata.
Tickets begin for Anime India Kolkata at ₹199 and are currently available on District by Zomato.
